Who goes there? Samsung unveils robot sentry that can kill from two miles away

The sentry robot in action in Cheonan, 92 kms south of Seoul.  The weapons-grade robot can detect, raise the alarm and provide suppressive fire.
The system was first trialled in 2006.  Human soldiers can easily fall asleep or allow for the depreciation of their concentration over time,' Samsung Techwin spokesman Huh Kwang-hak said at the time. But these robots have automatic surveillance, which doesn't leave room for anything resembling human laziness.

Wow. The US has an even more advanced stealth helicopter!

Read this article from Sean Meade at Aviation Week here, but this caught my attention...
initially planned to use Ghost Hawks for the Osama Bin Laden raid, highly classified helicopters nicknamed "Jedi rides" that emit zero electromagnetic radiation and are invisible to radar.

However they were replaced with older Stealth Hawks after the White House abandoned plans to have F-18 "hornet" jets fly patrols over the helicopters and it was deemed too much of a risk that the Ghost technology would fall into enemy hands.
Wow.

So much for the lack of progress in US helicopter development. Something tells me that all we're seeing is a whole bunch of old tech flying over the battlefields. Time to take a trip to Ft. Campbell with my night vision devices to see whats really flying.

Silence

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."

The words of Martin Luther King, Jr., ring as true today as they did they did then. It is our silence that allows suffering to continue. As a society we cannot remain silent about the injustices that plague our world, the injustices that children face daily, for if we speak then we can hear not only our voice but that of the voiceless child.

Every man, woman and child has a voice and it is those voices that are the first steps to fight hunger, disease, hate and violence.
